This spring jazz lovers are set to enjoy four bands in what is a not to be missed jazz and lifestyle gathering at NIROX Sculpture Park in the Cradle of Humankind on Sunday 02 September 2018.

Zoe Modiga brings her singular voice to color everything Yellow. She will present a refreshing repertoire that swings with the depth of her forebears and points to strong songs of a jazz to come.

The youthful genius drummer, Danno Petersen, will be a rare musical treat as he showcases chops that made him one of the most exciting players of his generation. At only 15 years of age, Danno has the prestigious Barack Obama Lifetime Achievement Award. Peterson has already made history by becoming one of South Africa's youngest music graduates, having attained a degree in music at the University of the Western Cape in 2014. He will now share the bill with firebrand drummer and composer, Ayanda Sikade who brings his brilliant avant-garde brand of jazz music, poised for the performance of his life. He will lead the rhythm section with his kindred spirit and lifelong friend and musical collaborator, Nduduzo Makhathini on Piano and Herbie Tsoaeli on Bass. The trio will support the incredible alto saxophonist, Mthunzi Mvubu and legendary horns-man and composer, Prince Lengoasa on trumpet. Sikade will lead this all star quintet to present music from his recently released album, Movements. The record is a celebration and culmination of all the learnings that have shaped Sikade’s musical mind over the years; from his time with Zim Ngqawana to his various international collaborations with American pianist, Darius Brubeck, Swiss jazz maestros Jan Galega, Banz Oester and others.

DJ Kenzhero will break new ground with an experimental project. He leads an ambitious performance with a brass band. From behind the decks, the immensely imaginative and inventive sound selector will guide his bold crew of horns-men through a set of classic tunes and improvise futurist takes on compositions audiences thought they knew well. This will make for a thrilling performance that reshapes how music lovers see Kenzhero.
